What's On with NAITAS?
The 1st Inter-Government Agency Seminar for 2010
March  2010
NAITAS Members got the chance to be updated on the latest policy changes and procedures in the Inter-Government Agency Seminar held last February 26 at the Centruy Seafood Restaurant from 1 to 5 in the afternoon. Good news for travel agents: the Department of Foreign Affairs announced that they will now be issuing e-passports for easier, faster processing. It also means less work for the agents since applicants need to make a personal appearance at the DFA to have their pictures taken. Another good news is the BREQS or the Batch Request Entry Systems where the National Sstatistics Office authorizes a partner to receive requests for NSO-issued copies of civil registry documents for the agency's clientele. This can serve as an additional income for the travel agents and replace what's lost from passport processing. A seminar about the new system will be conducted for the members very soon. Finally, the Bureau of Immigration made an arrangement thru Mr. Patch Arbas to provide NAITAS members with departure cards and gave them an update on the BI's new processes for smoother processing of permits.
