| NAITAS recently paid a courtesy call on Hon. Mark Lapid, the newly-appointed General Manager (GM) for the Philippine Tourism Authority (PTA) at his office last August 7, 2008. It was the first travel organization to do so.
The NAITAS contingent, led by its Chairperson, Angel Ramos Bognot and President Sheilla Johnson, reassured the GM of its continued support for the PTA and its new leadership. Hon. Lapid, in turn, deeply recognizes the organization’s relevance in the local travel industry, and has warmly expressed his welcome for NAITAS’ suggestions and help in PTA’s efforts in improving Philippine tourism.
The visit was a success, as that it further strengthened ties between the NAITAS and the Philippine Tourism Authority. This guarantees cooperation and partnership between the two organizations, which will ultimately benefit the rapidly growing tourism industry and the Philippine economy itself.
